5-Year Age Brackets (i.e. 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69…)
Entry Regulations:
1. The age division of competition for doubles will be determined by the lower age of the two partners.
2. Competition Balls will be supplied.
3. Athletes must provide their own racquets and practice balls.
4. Players are encouraged to provide a USTA player rating, if one is available. This rating will help seed the brackets.
5. In case of rain, play will be rescheduled if possible. Players should check at the courts or at the information desk for the revised schedule.
Format:
1. The Format may be adjusted because of entries within an age bracket. The preferred tournament format will be single elimination with a consolation bracket for first round losers.
2. 2019 Scoring Format:
Both singles and doubles matches will play best 2 out of 3 sets, No-ad scoring with a 7 point tiebreaker in the 3rd set. At the beginning of the first 2 sets, each team will start at “2-2” games a piece, and play until one team reaches “6” games, or the 7 point tiebreaker at “6” games all.
3. Upon completion of each match, both teams will report the score and get an optional 5-10 minute “break” between matches or be ready to go immediately thereafter if both teams agree to play.
